I was a bartender for several years. The only time anyone ever tried to scam me was when a guy gave me a $20 and I asked how he'd like his change and he said "Two tens and a five." I asked him to repeat himself and he changed it to "Two tens will be fine." Stay vigilant out there!

Always complete the original transaction. Close it out. Never give any money until you, the cashier, have received the patron's money first. Explain every bill exchange.

1. Customer pays $20 for a $5 beer, should get $15 back. 2. Asks for an extra $10 bill in exchange for 10 singles while waiting for change. 3. Gives her $9 singles instead of 10. 4. He then takes the $10 bill and $15 change she brings over. 5. She noticed the dollar shortage in the singles, he gives her an extra $11 dollars ($20 in total), and asks for $20 instead. 6. He doesn’t give back the $10 bill he took 7. She gets confused and forgets she already gave him a $10 bill. 8. She Proceeds to give him a $20 bill. Scamming her out of $10. I hope that makes sense 😊

It's quite easy. She already have him 10 for 9 then when gives 1 to make the 10, he gives another 10 and she gives him 20, but hes already received 10, so he ends up 30 for 20 in return. Oldest scam in the book.

This happened to me once when I was a teller back in the day. A guy did this with a $50 bill. Didn’t even think about what happened until the end of the day when I counted my till and I was short $20.
